✰ Beauty Talk ✰ Pearl Charles ✰

As a makeup artist, I'm always searching for sworn secret weapons, hidden cult classics, and all the new, weird stuff out on the markets. Has anyone else tried the K-beauty snail cushion foam cleanser?! When I have the opportunity to chat with a client or a gal I'm inspired by, it's a topic I'm always asking about.

I find myself drawn to creatives, people that hustle, mixed with confidence and a DGAF attitude. Aren't we all? Late last year, I began interviewing different ladies that fit the bill (go to the Jillian Wilkey archives to read some good ones). We're serving up some fresh interviews on the ELC platform starting with our November covergirl - Pearl Charles.

Pearl Charles is a good ol' fashioned rock n' roll gal. The Hollywood based singer-songwriter draws inspiration from California's golden years, but remains uniquely her own amongst today's artists. On the road and on the stage, how does Pearl take care of herself and doll up those doe eyes? Let's find out! And while we're at it, go check out her first single, Sleepless Dreamer, from her upcoming debut album.

What would you consider your first big break as a musician?

I've been playing music since I was very young, but the year that I got to sing on the same stage as Tom Petty, Jeff Lynne and Jackson Browne at The Troubadour for the Merry Minstrel Circus was definitely one of those moments when you look around and realize some of your dreams really have come true.

Does your beauty or self-care routine change when you're on the road?
Yes! It is really hard to do my full routine on the road so I definitely have to pare it down to just the essentials.
Best self-care advice?
You have to take care of yourself within in order to take care of yourself without.

How would you describe your beauty vibe?
'70s Laurel Canyon.

Best beauty advice?

Get enough sleep and drink plenty of water!

What's your favorite thing about yourself?

Overall I'd say my creativity because it's truly my saving grace and what gets me through the day, but physically I'd probably have to say my eyelashes.

What's something that most people don't know about you?

I was on an episode of Parks & Recreation.
